Wanda Wilson Obituary

Wanda Jane Wilson, 86, of Mooresville, In. passed away peacefully in the Memory Care Unit at the Plainfield Healthcare Center, Friday afternoon with her loving family by her side.

Funeral service with Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 900 Indianapolis Road, Mooresville In. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m until time of service.  Burial will be immediately following in the Clayton Cemetery. 

 

Wanda was born in Fillmore, In. to the late Lloyd Storm and Mary (Hostetter) Storm. She graduated from Fillmore High School with the class of 1956. After graduation she worked at (PSI) Public Service of Indiana, where she would later meet and marry her best friend, Phillip Wilson. Later in life Wanda filled her free time by working at Cox's Plant Farm and at the Davis Apple Orchard.

Wanda stayed home and raised three kids as well as perfected her cooking, gardening and canning. She also assisted with the church cookbook.

Wanda was very involved with her faith through Bible study, Bible School, Sunday School teacher and youth group leader. She was involved in Girl Scouts by being a Troop Leader organizing cookie drives and scout camping trips. Wanda assisted her husband Phillip as a baseball/softball scorekeeper and helped with concessions at team events and fundraisers for their kids. She was very active in the First United Methodist Church in their Henderson Group, and sang in various church choirs. One of her proudest moments was to participate in the Billy Graham Crusade and sing in his choir.

Survivors include her three children; Kara (Joe) Collins of Sarasota Fl., Lori (Dominick) Forsdick of Mooresville. In., and Mark (Lizette) Wilson of Tucson Az; grandchildren Sara (Stephen) Smith, Patrick Collins, Kyle (Taylor) Forsdick, Dylan Forsdick, Brooke Wilson, Taylor (Jamela) Wilson, Luis Wilson, Monique Wilson; great grandchildren, Genevieve Smith, Jackson Smith, Makayla Forsdick, Wyatt Forsdick and Raelynn Forsdick.  

In addition to her parents Wanda is preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Wilson and brothers Charles Storm and David Storm.
