Steve Close Obituary

Stephen L. Close, 63, of Indianapolis, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 16, 2024.  Steve was born October 6, 1960 in Indianapolis, a son of Cynthia Nave and the late Granville Close.

He graduated from Brownsburg High School with the class of 1978. He served his country in the United States Army during Desert Storm.  He enjoyed leather and woodworking, fishing and riding his Harley.  He was the Director of Operations for the Wellbrooke of Avon Senior Living Facility.

Steve is survived by his Sweetie of 21 year, Lori Hayden; daughters, Miranda Close and Dori Close, and son, David (Kristi) Hayden; 4 grandchildren; his mother, Cynthia and stepfather, Donald Nave; brother, Donnie Nave, and sister, Elizabeth Nave; nephews, Jonah and Noah Nave; affectionately known as his “second mother”, Eleanor Flathers, and many extended family members. 

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 26, 2024 from 11:00 -1:00 p.m.  A funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Burial will immediately follow in Danville South Cemetery.  Online condolences may be offered at www.heltonandharrisfuneralhomes.com.
