Sam Bolen Obituary

Neal Samuel “Sam” Bolen, 48, of North Salem, passed away after a brief illness, the morning of March 11, 2023, with his wife by his side.  Sam was born in Danville, IN, a son of Neal Stanley Bolen and Peggy Fleener.  He was a 1993 graduate of Danville High School.  

Sam proudly served his country as a member of our armed forces in the United States Navy.  He enjoyed farming the land and would do so most of his life.  He was a self taught Arborist with a deep respect for, and knowledge of trees. Sam was an avid HAM radio operator and enjoyed woodworking, car audio design and installation, and helping friends and neighbors whenever he could.

Sam is survived by his wife of 19 years, Ann M. (Tiepelman) Bolen, his mother, Peggy Fleener, and father Neal (Janna) Bolen; brothers, Matthew (Carrie) Fleener, Clint (Carrie) Bolen; sisters, Andrea (Blaise) Nausadis, and Alayna Bolen.  Sam is preceded in death by his grandparents, with whom he was very close, Buddy and Lillian Bolen.

A memorial service and celebration of Sam’s life will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Ladoga Christian church, 124 West Elm St., Ladoga, IN 47954. A visitation from 11AM until 1PM with the service beginning at 1PM, Online condolences may be offered at www.heltonandharrisfuneralhomes.com
