Paulette Elaine Reinhart, 81, of Clayton, Ind. passed away in the early hours on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was born in San Francisco, California on May 7, 1942, and was the daughter of the late, Raymond Victor and Margaret Elaine (Mack) Duhem, and the oldest of seven children.
Growing up the eldest of 7 children, Paulette formed a passion for children and teaching. She earned her BA in Learning Disabilities from California State University, Fresno, and minored in Ornamental Horticulture as a member of the Gammi Psi chapter of Kappa Delta Pi Educational Honor Society. She later received her Masters in Elementary Education from Loma Linda University. She retired after 30 years teaching elementary students in the Seventh-Day Adventist Schools from New York to Hawaii and from Michigan to Texas. In retirement, she volunteered with the Brownsburg Seventh-day Adventist Church's after-school programs, where she was also a member. Also, she enjoyed tending to all the flowers and plants in her garden.
She is survived by 3 sons, David (Lisa) Hall of Avon, IN, Michael (Sarah) Reinhart of Clayton, IN, Kenneth (Amanda) Reinhart of Indianapolis, IN; 4 grandchildren, Roman, Colin, Ethan Reinhart of Indianapolis, and Anna Reinhart of Clayton, IN; siblings, Roger Duhem, Annette (Thom) King, Ray Duhem, Michelle Rice, and Denise (Duhem) Drexel. In addition to her parents, Paulette is predeceased by her sister, Jeanne M. Duhem.
A graveside service will take place on Friday, September 1, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in Clayton Cemetery, Clayton, Indiana.
