Harold L. Rothkopf

Harold “Husky” L. Rothkopf, 74, of Clayton, IN. passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2023 at the Waters of Greencastle.  He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on January 4, 1949. Harold was the son of the late Charles and Harriett (Trotter) Rothkopf.  He grew up in Indianapolis, and was a 1967 graduate of Pike High School. He joined the Navy soon after graduating high school, and proudly served his country in Vietnam.

Harold worked for many years as a Senior Project Manager for Patriot Engineering and Environmental, Inc. and finally retired in 2017.He enjoyed vacationing at the Ohio River with his wife Jenny, guitar sessions with friends, watching Looney Tunes, and spending time with his family. He loved to be outdoors, and loved to fish and bird watch.

Harold is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Jenny (Laycock) Rothkopf; daughters, Heather Smyser and Angela (Eric) Taylor; grandchildren, Hannah, Serenity, Cameron, Caraline, Jolene, Adrianna, Gabriel, Johnny, and great-grandson, Sylas; sisters, Deborah (Russell) Dorsey, and Karen Rothkopf; and niece and nephew Sarah and Matthew. Harold also leaves behind his faithful companion, his doggy, Eddie.  In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his daughter, Amy Braden.
