Ann Syrus

 Ann Syrus, 90, of Poland, Ind. passed away on Friday, January 6, 2023, at Majestic Care of Avon.  She was born in Indianapolis, Ind. on December 3, 1932, a daughter of the late Walter and Ethel (Ludlow) Edmondson.  Ann grew up in Clayton and was a 1950 graduate of Clayton High School.  She made her career as an insurance agent with her family's insurance agency, Edmonson Insurance, from 1971 until her retirement in 1991. Ann was a member of Cloverdale Christian Church; she enjoyed socializing with her friends, watching Pacers basketball, having quiet time with a book, and curling up with her cats. 

Ann is survived by her son, Chris Hutcheson of Avon; brother, David (Evelyn) Edmondson of Clayton; stepson, Jeff Syrus (Dana) of Cloverdale; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family members.  In addition to her parents, Ann is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Syrus (2012), and stepson, Bill Syrus.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 9, 2023, from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at the HELTON & HARRIS FUNERAL HOME, DANVILLE, formerly, WEAVER & RANDOLPH FUNERAL HOME, DANVILLE, 102 S. Indiana St. Danville, IN 46122.  A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at 11:00 AM.  Interment will follow in the Clayton Cemetery, Clayton, Ind.
