Virginia (Good) Moore, 83, of Danville, IN passed away at her home early Christmas morning after a brief illness. Her family was by her side. She was born November 29, 1941, a daughter of the late Donald and Mildred (Stanley) Good. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Bob Moore.
Virginia was born in Indianapolis and grew up on a farm west of Danville. She graduated from New Winchester High School with the class of 1959. As a young girl and into adulthood, Virginia enjoyed travelling and camping with several of her Stanley cousins. In 1973, she was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Moore.
Virginia was a lifelong member of Hadley Friends Church. She was a member of the Women’s Group where she helped plan Vacation Bible School, Christmas programs, and published the Church newsletter, but her greatest passion was tending the nursery on Sunday mornings. She loved watching sports, especially Purdue athletics. Her favorite activities involved watching, supporting and cheering-on her two grandsons’ sporting events and other activities.
Virginia was the matriarch, historian, and “communication gatekeeper” of 74 families, circulating Christmas letters and keeping everyone informed of births, deaths, graduations, and marriages. And she was the force that kept the "Cousin Reunion" tradition alive. Throughout her life, Virginia spent her time being an amazing wife, homemaker, mom, grandmother and friend.
Virginia is survived by her only son, Mike (Rebecca) Moore of Danville; her two grandsons, Evan and Aaron Moore; siblings, Carolyn (Mickey) Goff of Louisville, OH, Larry (Patti) Good of Sugar Grove, IL, Kathryn (Al) Jerves of Downers Grove, IL, Garry (Pam) Good of Bloomington, IL and Mike (Kelly) Good of Cloverdale, IN. She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members and dear friends.
Visitation will be Friday, January 3, 2025 from 11 am-1:30 pm with a funeral service beginning at 1:30 pm at the Helton and Harris Funeral Home, Danville.
