Rochelle Anne Banziger, 88, of Nashville, Indiana passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2024 at St. Vincent Hospital. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on October 30, 1936, the only daughter of Henry "Ernie" and Christina (Pritchett) Woodard.
Rochelle grew up in Lizton, Indiana, graduating with eleven other students from Lizton High School with the class of 1954. After high school she attended Indiana University, the first in her family to attend college, where she met her future husband Milton R. Banziger of South River, NJ. She was a devoted mother, raising 3 children while also being very involved with her interests: photography, community theater, choral groups, and Toastmasters. She trained as a first responder with the Red Cross, working at the IN State Fair, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and in local hospitals. She did humanitarian work internationally and traveled extensively. Her humanitarian work culminated in meeting His Holiness the Dalai Lama. She loved nature and especially her many dogs over the years.
Rochelle is survived by 3 children, Jeff Banziger, Cindy Bibeault, and Debbie Davidson; 3 grandchildren, Jen Davidson, Rachael and Charlotte Seidensticker; and one great grandson, Lorenzo Molano.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at 2:30pm at the Helton & Harris Funeral Home, 4712 Pennsylvania St., Clayton, IN 46118. Burial will follow in the Lizton K of P Cemetery, Lizton, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Rochelle’s name to the Humane Society or Red Cross.
