Rebecca Jane Garland

Rebecca Jane Garland, 80, of Danville, IN passed away on Monday, December 8, 2025. She was born August 14, 1945, the daughter of the late Walter Suggs and Geneva (Dotson) Lunsford. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Jeannine.

Rebecca was quiet and laid back, unless she was driving, her license plate read, Maniac Mom.

She loved to spend time with her granddaughter, Emma, doing arts and crafts, but especially fishing together from her pond. Rebecca will be remembered for her love of travel, dogs, and decorating for the holidays. She enjoyed country music concerts and line dancing with friends. She will also be remembered by the hundreds of school kids who went through Danville schools where she retired after 30 years of service.

Rebecca is survived by her only son, Mark (Erin) Garland of Danville, her granddaughter, Emma Garland, her sister, Lynn (Rock) Suggs of Studebaker, OH, many nieces and nephews, and her best friends, Sandy Brooks and Barb and Jerry Steele.

In accordance with her wishes she will be cremated and her ashes scattered. The family will be having a Celebration of Life in the Spring. The family would also like to thank the wonderful staff at Danville Regional Rehab for their kindness in caring for Becky.
