Misty Jean (Settles) Anderson, 55, of Danville, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2026, after a brief illness, with her loving husband never leaving her side. She was born in Danville on July 17, 1970, the youngest daughter of the late Calvin and Betty (Williams) Settles.
Misty was a proud country girl who grew up in Belleville and graduated from Cascade High School with the Class of 1989. She became a cosmetologist and, for the past 35 years, enjoyed helping her clients look and feel their best. She met her best friend and the love of her life, Brad Anderson, by chance when she stepped outside for some air at a bar where he was working as a bouncer. Brad always said it was love at first sight. They were married for 28 years, making one another their top priority and always finding a way to work through life together. Their relationship was a perfect yin and yang — Misty was always go, go, go, while Brad brought calm contemplation.
Together they enjoyed the outdoors, sprint car racing, fishing, and football — especially cheering “Go Pack Go!” Once a week, she looked forward to spending time with her best friend, Bev, finding a new TV show to binge-watch together. Misty was a member of New Winchester Christian Church, where she, mother-in-law, and Brad were all baptized on the same day.
Misty loved the color purple along with butterflies. She adored the Disney character Tinker Bell and identified with her magical spirit. She was feisty, loyal, creative, resourceful, and sharp-witted, with a sassy personality and deep kindness. She will be remembered for her spirited mischief and independence. Misty was a loving wife, sister, aunt, and friend. Although she never became a mother herself, she and Brad loved their nieces and nephews as their own.
Misty is survived by her husband, Brad Anderson; her sister, Kristy Rodgers; her brother, Calvin (Rony) Settles; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved kitties, Gizmo and Violet.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 27, 2026, at New Winchester Christian Church from 4:00–7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held the following day at 11:00 a.m., with one hour of visitation prior to the service. She will be laid to rest near her parents at Clayton Cemetery.
