Mary Ann was born March 26, 1960 and spent her early years on a 40-acre farm near Lizton, Indiana. She moved with her family, mother Mary Louise, father James, and brothers, Steven and Thomas, to Danville, Indiana at age five. After the death of both parents in her early teens, she came to live with Joe and Rosie Kerlin and their daughters. From that day on, she had two families who loved her deeply.
After graduating from Danville Community Schools, she studied at Hanover College for two years in Madison, Indiana. She then studied at the Art Institute of Dallas, earning an associate degree in Fashion Merchandising, after which she returned to Indiana to earn her bachelor’s degree through Indiana University School of Business.
Mary Ann had a successful career working for various companies in Merchandise Planning and Analysis. This culminated with her retirement August 2024 from UnderArmour as the Senior Planner Direct-to-Consumer for all of Canada. Her peers regarded her as “the best” and held her in high regard.
Career and leisure travel took Mary Ann to many places far and wide, India and Greece, among them. In Greece, Mary Ann reconnected with her family and basked in their accomplishments, familial bonding, and affection.
Saint Thomas Catholic Church in Broad Ripple was her spiritual home. There, she was baptized and active for several years.
