Martha Hawkins

Martha Verna Newby Hawkins, 96, of Pittsboro, IN passed away Friday, December 13, 2024. She was born July 26, 1928 to Oshia Simpson Newby and James Franklin Newby. She lived in Henry Co., Kentucky near Sulphur, Kentucky and spent the majority of her married years in Indiana. September 25, 1945 she and Beverly Lee Hawkins were married in Carrollton, Kentucky. To their union were born 5 children, Billie Jane Penick (Clifford) Scobee, Henry Lee (Terri) Hawkins, David Joe (Rebecca) Hawkins, Pamela (James) Hufstetler and Darrell Keith (Tara) Hawkins. She has 7 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Also she has 5 great, great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Beverly, grandson, Gregory, 3 brothers and 3 sisters. 

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 from 11:30am - 1:00pm at the Abundant Life H.M. Apostolic Pentecostal Church, 1003 W. Lincoln St., Danville, IN 46122. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm. Burial will be Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 1:00 pm (EST) in the Port Royal Cemetery, Port Royal, Kentucky.
