Karl Williams

Karl Frederick Williams, 94, of Clayton, passed away on December 26, 2024, he was surrounded by his family. He was born January 30, 1930, a son of the late Otis and Dorothy (Rommel) Williams. In addition to his parents Karl is predeceased by his wife, Della (York) Williams, sisters Naomi and Martha and daughter Karla. 

Karl was a loving husband and father. He enjoyed spending time with his family and creating memories that will last forever. He grew up in Indianapolis where he met his wife Della. He knew immediately that she was the love of his life. They were married for almost 60 years when she proceeded him in death in 2008. Karl worked over 40 years as a truck driver. He started his trucking career delivering meat at Stark & Wetzel and later Rath Meat Packing. Later he drove semis for Whiteford Truck Lines. He loved his job and was proud to tell anyone about delivering meat to stores all over Indiana. You could not get him lost, he always knew where to go. 

In retirement Karl loved fishing and woodworking. He built many things, including furniture for his family. As he aged and moved into assisted living, he enjoyed going out to breakfast with family and going on long drives. He was always joking with people, whether you were a friend or a stranger. We will never forget him and always keep him in our hearts. 

Karl is survived by his children and their families, twin sons, David (Pat) Williams of Plainfield, Richard (Barbara) Williams of Hazelwood, Jeffery (Dhana) Williams of Martinsville; grandchildren, Michelle Coomer, Michael Williams, Matthew Williams, Karen Elliott and Sara Kuhl, many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 30, 2024 from 10 am - 1 pm at the Helton & Harris Funeral Home, Clayton. A funeral service will begin at 1 pm. Burial will follow in Clayton Cemetery, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Karl’s name to the Alzheimer's Association. The family would like to thank the staff at Cumberland Trace for their kindness and exceptional care. Dad loved living there.
