James H. "Jim" Austin

Funeral services for JAMES H. "JIM" AUSTIN, 73, will be held at 1:00 pm Fri., Jan. 26, 2018 at the AVON UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, of which he was a member, with visitation there from 11:00 am until time of service. Entombment will follow in West Ridge Cemetery in Indianapolis.

Jim was born in Indianapolis a son of Ola Lester and Hallie Gertrude (Ringham) Austin. He graduated from Decatur Central High School and attended IUPUI in Indianapolis for 2 years. Jim was a retired truck driver for Teamsters Local #135, rendering 25+ years of service. He had also been a private tax consultant. Jim served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of American Legion and VFW Posts.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years Mary (Conover), children, Jaime Cardona - Danville, James H. Austin II - Avon, 3 grandchildren, sisters, Mary Grayless and Darlene Spitz, both of Brownsburg, and a brother, Richard Fatout - Clayton. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Norma Thomas.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the Avon United Methodist Church in memory of Jim.
