Frances A. Boone

October 22, 1944 — April 26, 2025

Clayton

Frances A. Hughes-Boone returned to her King and Maker on April 26, 2025.  Frances spent her life as a registered nurse. Caring for others was her purpose on this earth.  She loved caring for her patients.  She provided hope and encouragement to all ages, races and creeds.  Frances spent the later part of her career working at University Hospital on the hemo-oncology unit, before transitioning to the Simon Cancer Center. She retired when her health began to fail her.

Frances' true passion was her family.  Her daughter Lorre was the light of her life.  Lorre's husband David had a special place in her heart and became the son that she never had.  However, no one could hold a candle to her granddaughter Samantha Kay.  She loved her family with a singular love and always showed her concern for her siblings, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, numerous cousins, brethren, sisters in Christ, and many friends.  She was loved by many and will be missed by all!  Frances was a member of the Church of Christ at Belleville.

Frances joins her beloved parents, Samuel and Zelpha (Larkin) Hughes, brothers Jerry Hughes and James Hughes, her nieces Nicole Huffman and Jaime Gibson and her feisty little dog Tinkerbell.  The family wishes to thank Liberty Township Fire Dept for your quick response and kindness as Lorre's daughter was processing this difficult time.  We would like to thank Sargent Joshua Nohren, Hendricks Co. Sherriff's Office for his quick response, compassion and waiting with the family.  We would like to thank Helton & Harris Funeral Home for your compassion and care of our mother and sister.

Frances is survived by her daughter, Lorrena (David) Nuckols of Clayton, her sister, Wanda (Richard) Huffman of Plainfield and her granddaughter, Samantha K. Nuckols also of Clayton.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. on Monday, May 5, 2025 at the Helton & Harris Funeral Home, DANVILLE. A funeral service will begin at 3:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Cartersburg, IN.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Frances' name to your local animal shelter, SPCA or charity of the donors' choice.
