Forrest Kent Hadley, 77, of Danville, passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, August 24, 2025. He was born September 16, 1947 in Indianapolis to the late Lloyd Edward and Betty Louise (May) Hadley Mains. Kent graduated from Danville High School with the Class of 1965. February 17, 1969, he went to work for Eli Lilly, where he was an instrumental figure in the production of synthetic insulin, retiring as a Supervisor on September 30, 2008. Kent served Danville and surrounding communities as Fire Chief for the Danville Volunteer Fire Department from June 6, 1983 until December 31, 1990. In his spare time and into his retirement he enjoyed working on small engines, and watching football with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Judi Hadley; daughters, Sheri (Kenny) Woods of Gulf Shores, AL, Amy Jo (Tim) Elliott of Danville, IN; grandchildren, K.C. (Brandi) Woods, Kody (Brelyn) Woods, Jake (Allison) Elliott, Sydney (Cody) Gibson, Hadley (Ryan) Hibdon; great grandchildren, Kynlee, Kruz, Kohen and Kodiak Woods, Paisley Elliott and Elliott Hibdon; brother, Glenn (Lynda) Hadley of Minster, OH; sister, Linda Carroll of Greenfield, IN; sister-in-law, Sharon (Jimmy) Ray. Also missing Kent are many extended family members and dear friends. A Celebration of Kent’s Life will be held at the home of Kent and Judi Hadley’s on Monday, December 29, 2025 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm.
