Elsie May (Suiters) Pierce, 86, of Danville, IN went to be with the Lord, surrounded by her family at home, on Tuesday, October 7, 2025. She was born in Mishawaka, Indiana on March 9, 1939, one of ten children, born to the late Harry Purdue and Viola Margaret (Foy) Suiters. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by 8 siblings, Charles, Richard, Harry, Billie, Harold, Lula Bell Mary and Edith.
She worked for Stokely-Van Camp food packaging, now PepsiCo. and Bemis Bag Company, pioneers of the printed and machine sewn packaging bags. She retired from Hendricks Regional Health in 2004 after 15 years. Elsie enjoyed playing the Hoosier Lottery, mowing the lawn and gardening. Mostly, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. A few of her favorite things were- yellow roses, the movie, The Bridges Over Madison County, and legendary country musician, George Jones.
Elsie is survived by her adoring husband, Jessie Pierce; three loving children and their families, Julie (Wayne) Morphew, Shane (Tina Brinkman) Pierce, and Glenda (Joseph) Sluss; grandchildren, Brandon (Betty) , Jeremy (Kari) Morphew, and Dustin Morphew, Kurtis (Rachelle) Sluss, Kayla (Tyler) Ratliff, Ashley (Zachary) Towle, Savanna Pierce and Justin; great grandchildren, Siarra Morphew, Logan (Liz) Morphew, Hailey and Kylee Morphew, Brooklyn and Ransom Diggs, and one more coming in December, Molly Josephine Towle. Elsie is survived by her brother, Jimmie Lee Suiters and many extended family members and dear friends.
Elsie's favorite quote to family and friends was to never say goodbye, always say "Lator Gator".
The family will receive friends at Abundant Life- House of Mercy, 1003 W. Lincoln St. Danville, IN on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 from 11:00am until the time of service at 1:00pm.
