Ed Rader

Edwin R. Rader, 90, of Danville passed away on Monday, August 17, 2026.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Helton & Harris Funeral Homes, 102 S. Indiana Street, Danville, Indiana where the family will receive friends for a memorial gathering and visitation from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 27.

Ed Rader was one of the men in this small group. To which group his granddaughter, Olivia Rader joined, carrying on Ed’s bird dog legacy.

Among all Ed accomplished, from Raders Body Shop, to developing technology that changed the way bird dogs (any dog) could be trained, and so much more, Ed’s greatest accomplishment was the life he built with the people he loved.

Ed married the love of his life, Jeanne Marlys Hanson on September 26, 1958. Together they raised their three children: Chris, Troy, and Ann. Ed and Jeanne watched their family grow through grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ed was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jeanne, his daughter Ann, his parents: John and Flossie (Poindexter) Rader and his seven siblings.

He survives by his sons: Chris (Donna) Rader and Troy (Carrie) Rader; his grandchildren: Andrea Rader, Jared (Charlene) York, Christopher Rader, Jordon (Lindsey) Rader, Olivia Rader and six great-grandchildren, and brother Denny (Rita) Rader.
