Carol A. Coleman

Carol Ann Coleman, age 78, passed away at Life’s Journey Hospice in Avon on September 28,2025. She was born in Clinton, Indiana on June 2, 1947 to Ruth (Downing) and Russell Garrigus. Carol grew up in Rockville, Indiana. She graduated from Rockville High School in 1965. She received a B.S. Degree in 1969 and a Masters Degree in 1973 from Indiana State University in Elementary Education.

Carol married David H.Coleman on August 2, 1969. Carol and David moved to Brownsburg, Indiana in 1970 where she taught third grade and David taught in the high school. They moved to Danville in 1974 after David graduated from Indiana University Indianapolis School of Law and began practicing law. After giving birth to daughters Michelle and Mary Ann, Carol began teaching Kindergarten at Danville North Elementary. She retired in 2008. Carol loved little children especially her grandchildren.

Carol is survived by her husband, David; daughters Michelle Tiek (Brandon) of Carmel, Indiana, and Mary Ann Heredos (Judd) of Westfield, Indiana; brother, Phil Garrigus and wife, Judy of Terre Haute, Indiana; nephew, Scott Garrigus (Lindsey); brother-in-law Ronnie Paddock; niece Kelli Seward (Dan) and nephew Dean Paddock; nephew Tim Coleman (Missy) and the pride of her life, grandchildren: Sam, Will, Stella and Elizabeth Tiek (Juan) (great grandchildren Bella and Idalia) and David and Ava Heredos. She was preceded in the death by her parents, sister-in-law Lucketa, brother-in-law Kenny and nephew Brian.

Visitation will be on October 10, 2025 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm with funeral at 4:00 pm at the Danville Christian Church, 180 West Main Street, Danville, IN, 46122. Burial at Memorial Gardens in Rockville at a later date.
