Lindell "Jerry" Jackson

Lindell Gerald “Jerry” Jackson, 82, of Danville, IN passed away unexpectedly on August 24, 2023.  He was born in Holcomb, Missouri on April 2, 1941, and was the son of late James and Mernice (Vaughn) Jackson. He attended Danville High School, and then went into military. He retired from Herf Jones Jewelry in 2003, where he worked as a jeweler.

Jerry enjoyed relaxing in the outdoors and he cherished his time spent with family. He worked hard and gave his all to his family. He had a fierce love for all of his Grand & Great Grandchildren. Being a Papaw was his crowing achievement. He had a special relationship with each one making some beautiful memories. He always made sure he had super glue, gold fish crackers and popcorn so he could fix anything they needed or give out treats. He was full of life, wisdom and laughter. Always willing to share a story, a life experience or give words of wisdom to help one of us navigate our own paths. He was a member of New Winchester Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Jerry is predeceased by his sister, Vonita Shelton and brother, James Paul “Sonny” Jackson.

Jerry is survived by his sister Verletta King (Tom), children, Perry Jackson of Columbus, IN, Dodie Fantozzi of Mooresville,IN, Bryan Jackson (Mimi) of Schertz, TX; grandchildren, Alishia Ries (Doug) of Brownsburg, IN, Joe Russel (Twyla) of Martinsville, IN, Amanda Joyner (Chandler) of Monrovia, IN, April Hendricks of Mooresville, IN, Justin Jackson of Schertz, TX, Trevor Jackson of Offutt Air Force Base, NE, James Jackson of Columbus, IN, and great-grandchildren, Alexis, Ryan, Sophia, Alec, Kalysta, Romym, Colson and Jackson.

A celebration will be held at a later date.
